HI Andy,

I purchased my TR3-A front and rear Bumper parts at Moss Motors. You can save 15% by using the Little British Car Co. The fit was acceptable and actually look quite good. I've entered the car in TRA Concours the last 3 years and they were well accepted. I would encourage you to buy the best ones you can find as cost should be secondary. You only want to install these once and then move on to other adventures.

Side Bar: I bid on and won a new TR3-A black vinyl top at the TRA Auction in Fort Wayne last year. My old top was in nice shape but the deal was just too good to pass by. In the meantime I've decided to take the plunge and buy the StayFast Cloth top I've always wanted so now I have two black vinyl tops. If you are interested you can have the new top from the auction for $95 plus freight. The hardware is already installed so you are all set to go.

Please contact me at rgh1506@windstream.net with any questions.

Cheers,

Ray

As to bumpers and overiders, if you can locate an old set, used but in decent shape, get them re chromed. The steel is heavier. The current stock available and sold by all is of thinner steel and the chrome finish not as good as if you could get them re chromed.

For what it's worth, I recently sent the front bumper, front over riders and rear over riders from my 1960 TR-3A off for a quote to have them re-chromed.  I have used the place before and they do excellent work.  Their price was almost $1,000 to do all 5 pieces.  The Roadster Factory had them on sale at that time (Famous Winter Parts Sale) and I ended up getting all 5 pieces for about $550.  I haven't installed them yet, but I checked them out carefully and they look pretty good.  They have a much better finish than the ones I bought from them 20 years ago for my TR-2.  It's obvious they have upgraded their supplier.
