The Morgan Motor Company located in Britain doesn’t change in a changing world. Not only is it still independent, but it also makes each car by hand. A base model is about $44,000, with some cars costing up to $300,000.  People wait for over a year to get their exclusive hand-built cars with the shell made out of metal and much of the vehicle made out of wood.  Working on the wood interior, workers use metal shears to individually shape a hood because each car has to be different.  Every year Morgan produces about 600 cars.  The company will celebrate its 100th anniversary in 2011. It has a long and interesting history, and is still run by the same family: the Morgans.  Founded by Henry Frederick Stanley Morgan known as “HFS”, it was then run by his son Peter, and is now run by Charles, the son of Peter Morgan.

The photos progression loaded first from bottom up. I think it is better if viewed first to last, (bottom to top).

WOW, pretty cool. I wonder what a TR3 would look like today with that kind of progression?

Forgive me but, do you mean where were they taken?

No.  Sorry, what I mean is how do I access the photos.  When I open your post I see text but no photos.  perhaps it's a setting on my system?

I'm not sure if it's some system setting or not. Trthree was able to see them, and I certainly can. Anyone else having a problem seeing the photos? Perhaps this technical issue needs to be brought to the attention of the site administrator. Let me know how you make out, (btw, the photos are really interseting. I'll send them to you in an email if you can't somehow bring em up. Let me know.

I heard somewhere that they build nine at a time. Is this true? Also that the factory is built on a hill so that when the body and chassis is complete they roll it down the hill to the next shop which installs the engine etc and then down to the next shop[ where the electrics and brakes are down, finally to the coach work shop and then taken out for a test drive around a designated route through town and back. Can anyone confirm these rumors?

One thing I could confirm; the concept is an example of old world brilliance, isn't it!
